Custom Made to measure curtains provide a room with that "finished look" as well as keeping out bright sunlight, preventing furniture from fading. Custom made curtains also help keep the warmth in your home during the winter.
Custom made curtains can be a great way to inject colour into a room, or to make a real feature of a window - custom made curtains can be dressed up or down as much as you want. Brighter/richer colours and heavier custom made curtains will draw the eye to a window, while lighter colours and fabrics will make a small window appear larger.
There are many different types of custom made fabrics available from Gerrys at Home and these can be made into the following curtains Eyelet Curtains, Pencil Pleat Curtains, Pinch Pleat Curtains and Tab Top Curtains, you are also able to have matching tiebacks, valances and cushions to finish the look in your room.
Eyelet Curtains
Eyelet curtains increased in popularity in the UK in the early 2000's. Traditionaly popular in Europe Eyelet readymade curtains are hung by threading the curtain pole through the eyelet heading. For the best results your eyelet custom madecurtains should have a double gather. Eyelet custom made curtains are popular in modern homes and apartments and give a clean contemporary look to your windows.
Tab Top Curtains
Tab Top curtains are a contemporary style and are also hung by threading the curtain pole through the tab top heading.
Tab Top curtains are popular in modern homes and apartments. Tab top custom made curtains should have a 1 ½ to double gather for the best results on your window. It is important when hanging tap top curtains that your pole is at least 3 inches above your window to allow for the length of the tab.
Tape Top (Pencil Pleat) Custom Made Curtains.
Pencil pleat headed curtains can be hung on a curtain track or pole. The three hook positions allow some adjustment to the final depth of your curtain. They can be fitted with a decorative valance if required.
'Tape' is the name for the band of fabric with string threaded through which is attached to the inside top edge of each curtain Hooks are looped through the tape to attach the curtains to the track or pole The tape on all our curtains is 3" The tape will have 3 rows of strings running through it. Please note that if you place your hooks on the tape at the highest position your track or pole will show over the top of the curtains. If you choose the lowest position it will be hidden.
Linings
Custom made curtains hang better if they are lined. Custom made curtain linings also improve the appearance of colours and patterns, protect your custom made curtains against strong sunlight and improve insulation when it's cold. We have 2 options for the lining, plain lining and blackout lining.
Accessories
We also offer you the opportunity to finish the look in your room with matching cushions, tie backs and valances. These are made from te same fabric as your curtains and so will match perfectly.
Tiebacks
These can be made in 4 different styles, crescnt plain, cresent frill, cresent self piped and plaited.
Valances
These come in 3 styles, straight plain, shaped plain, straight frill
Cushion Covers
The cushion covers are 43x43cm and come in 4 styles, straight sewn, self piped, self fringed, oxford.
